FOR YOUR LAKE TAHOE SKI VACATION
Bargains on ski lift tickets come and go. Ski resort marketing plans and strategies change and so do the promotions. During our thirty years of experience skiing the major Lake Tahoe ski resorts, we have accumulated a reliable list for discounting all of the major resorts. Additionally, there are discounts that "pop up" periodically and we include these if and when we find them.
On this web page, we provide you with some of the discounts as we know them to exist. While none of these are guaranteed, we expect them to be in place and to continue into the next ski season. The remaining discounts will be communicated in our confirmation package which will be e-mailed to you after booking one of our vacation rental units
Discount #1 - Homewood Mountain - $42 adult ticket Monday to Thursday when purchased online.
This applies to non-holiday dates. Weekends and holidays are $45. Compare to other area ski resorts at up to $65 mid week.
Discount #2 - Burger King coupon for $6 off at Mt. Rose
This discount coupon ticket is available from all local Burger Kings. No purchase is necessary. If you are flying to Reno and driving to our condos at Tahoe's south shore, you will pass a Burger King on Highway #50 at the south end of Carson City.
Discount #3 - Seniors. Many resorts offer seniors discounts starting at age 62.
For example Alpine Meadows has senior tickets for $47 vs the regular price of $61.
Discount #4 - Subway discount for Kirkwood - up to $10 value per person.
This SUBWAY (submarine sandwiches) discount coupon gets $5 off an adult ticket , or $3 off a youth ticket, or $10 off the Kirkwood Learn-to-Ski program. There is a Subway shop at the intersection of Highway #50 and the Pioneer Trail - about a half mile west of the CA/NV border or about 1.5 miles west of Lake Village. Your Kirkwood lift ticket has a discount coupon for Subway sandwiches on the back.
Discount #5 - Cash discounts for Heavenly, Squaw, Sierra, and Kirkwood - a $2-$5 value per ticket.
These Lake Tahoe Ski Resort cash discount lift tickets are available from a local shop less than a half-mile from our condos. The shop has extended hours and is open well into the evening. You may purchase these in advance or on the same day of use. Major credit cards are accepted. Well worth the effort if you have a group of skiers: one person can pick up the entire group's lift tickets the evening before or on the morning of your ski day. Discount #6 - Two-for-One coupon booklet for Kirkwood lifts - $21+ value.
This discount ski lift ticket coupon booklet provides a series of discounts for two lift tickets (yes, a two-for-one adult lift ticket!), services such as waxing, and products such as clothing at numerous local retailers. There is a very limited print run for these booklets - 2000 per season - and they are for sale but NOT widely available to the public.

Discount #7 - Any Mountain Discounted Lift Tickets - up to $6 value.
This retailer sells a generous but limited supply of discounted vouchers for selected Tahoe ski resorts. Purchases must be made at least several days in advance. We recommend purchasing these as early in the season as possible and having the tickets mailed to your home.

Discount #8 - Powder Magazine's Ski Resort Guide - up to $22 value.
Each year, Powder Magazine publishes a ski resort guide in addition to its monthly magazine. The January guide - "North America's Best Ski Resorts" - typically has a two-for-one lift ticket discount coupon to four major USA ski resorts including one of Lake Tahoe's top resorts. The coupon is good only for the current ski season but it has no other restrictions. You may have to do some digging to get a copy. Major magazine retailers will likely be able to find one or more copies for you. Make sure the coupon is included before you buy!
Discount #9 - Mt. Rose Discounted Lift Tickets - up to $20 value.
Mt. Rose has a discount system every non-holiday week day. For instance, Two-for-Tuesdays gets two adult lift tickets for the price of one. Ladies' Day Thursday gets each woman a lift ticket for half price or less. On Drag Queen Day (mid-March), anyone dressed like a woman gets the Ladies Day price. Rouge? Lipstick? Veil? Garter belt? - just how far will you go to save a few bucks? Naturally, Mt. Rose holds drag races and a beauty pageant that day! Totally different and lots of fun!
Discount #10 - Wells Fargo ATM discount for Kirkwood - up to $5 value per person.
Wells Fargo offers Lake Tahoe ski resort discount lift tickets. The ski lift ticket discount is applied when you purchase your Kirkwood lift ticket from any Northern California Wells Fargo ATM machine.
